Upskilling ASHA Workers to Strengthen India’s Primary Healthcare System

In response to the vital role played by ASHA and Ground-Level Health Workers in Pondicherry and Villupuram, our initiative endeavours to comprehensively assess their current skills and knowledge in delivering primary healthcare services. The goal is to understand the existing capabilities of 371 frontline healthcare providers, recognizing their significance in community health.

By taking a nuanced approach, our program seeks to address the skill gaps and enhance the proficiency of these crucial healthcare providers. The overarching objective is to empower them with the necessary tools and insights to navigate the complexities of delivering quality primary healthcare services.

In recognising the pivotal role ASHA and ground-level health workers play in community well-being, our initiative stands as a commitment to equipping these frontline healthcare providers with the expertise needed to serve their communities effectively. The primary objective is to empower participants with the necessary knowledge and capabilities to secure employment, ultimately making a positive impact on their communities.

To facilitate accessible and high-quality education, two dedicated training centres have been established—one in Pondicherry and the other in Villupuram. These centres collectively cater to a total of 371 students, embodying our commitment to providing education that is both inclusive and impactful.
